Onsite 1 - Beebe
The unit was on civil rights and equality. These are the books I chose to read to the students. Before reading, I would alway engage the students in a small discussion about any prior knowledge they have pertaining to the topic of the book. I would also have students make obseration and predictions based on the details of the covers. During reading, I often stopped to ask questions or make connections to what was read.

Storyline online is a really cool resource. Celebrities read books out loud while the illustrations from the book are shown.

Social and Emotional Learning
Class Dojo has videos pertaining to social and emotional needs such as growth mindset, empathy, mindfulness and much more. Each video involves realworld scenariors that students themselves may face. The students learn strategies they can use to help them identify the emotions they are feeling and how to navigate those emotions. There are different exercises involved such as journaling, meditation and breathing.
